- album and band name
- lyrics
- He’d wait around ‘till she was better,
And hold his hands under his thighs,
He’d write her a dozen or so letters,
With not so much as a reply,
He looked around for something better,
And found it in a little local’s eyes,
He felt contented and unfettered,
For the first time in his life,
It’s a hard fall, it’s a long fall back to the high,
A couple of years they were to marry,
But he felt ill and cold inside,
From resurrected thoughts he’d buried,
And memories he thought had died,
Footsteps on the highway but I ain’t going nowhere,
If you’re going my way then I ain’t going no where,
He wandered for a long-lost woman,
Compulsions he could not deny,
After a few months heart was wooden,
And his compass had gone awry.
